Sign in — password or magic link

StoryVault supports three sign-in methods: password, magic link by email, and Microsoft SSO (Entra ID). Which methods are available depends on your organization’s setup.

Password sign-in

1. Open the sign-in page at https://app.storyvault.eu/login.
2. Enter your email and password.
3. Click Sign in.

After a successful sign-in you land on the dashboard of your default tenant. If you are a member of multiple organizations, you can switch between them from the user menu (see Multiple tenants).

Magic link — passwordless sign-in

If you do not want to remember a password or you have forgotten it, request a magic link. You receive an email with a one-time link that signs you in without a password.

1. Request a magic link

   On the sign-in page click Forgot password? below the password field. On the next page enter your email address and choose Sign in with Magic Link.

2. Open your inbox

   The email arrives within a few seconds. Subject: “Your sign-in link for StoryVault”. Check spam too.

3. Open the link

   Click Sign in now in the email. You land on a confirmation page showing your name.

4. Confirm sign-in

   Click Sign in on that page. You are signed in and redirected to the dashboard.

Tip

Clicking the link in the email does not sign you in directly — only the click on the confirmation page does. This protects against automatic link previews in mail clients and security scanners that would otherwise consume the link.

What if the link is expired or already used?

• Validity: Magic links are valid for 5 minutes. After that, request a new one.
• Single use: Each link works exactly once. Sharing or clicking it twice produces an error on the second attempt.
• New link: Just request another — the previous one is invalidated automatically.

How often can I request magic links?

To prevent abuse, requests are rate-limited:

• Per email address: 2 magic links per hour
• Per IP address: 10 magic links per hour

When the limit is hit you still see a success message — but no email is sent. Wait an hour or contact your administrator.

Reset password

1. Sign-in page → Forgot password?
2. Enter email → choose Reset password.
3. Open the reset email, set a new password.

The reset link is also single-use and expires after one hour. After a successful change, all existing sessions (e.g. in other browsers) are signed out automatically.

Microsoft SSO

If your organization has Microsoft Single Sign-On (Entra ID) enabled, the sign-in page shows a Sign in with Microsoft button. Details: Microsoft SSO.

Common issues

Problem	Fix
”Sign-in link is invalid or expired”	Link older than 5 min or already used → request a new magic link
No email received	Check spam; try again after 5 min; have your admin verify the address
”You are not a member of any active organization”	Account deactivated or has no tenant — contact admin
Error on second click	Magic link already redeemed — request a new one
